Making Noise in the Library: Flamenco: An Introduction to a Centennial Musical Art Form

The Making Noise in the Library series brings artists into the Music Library for free performances. 
On Thursday, October 13, internationally acclaimed Latin Grammy Award nominee, flamenco singer Juan Pinilla, born in Granada, Spain, and master guitarist David Caro, born in Almeria, Spain, will present an introduction to Flamenco «cante» (song) and «toque» (music) open to students, faculty, and community members. They will be presented by UVA Spanish faculty and poet-songwriter Fernando Valverde, and Professor Fernando Operé.
This demonstration of Flamenco music is in anticipation of their full performance at the Paramount Theatre on October 14, 2022.
