“Reading in the Age of Distrust” and Teaching Critical Reading [An Open Discussion]

In her essay “Reading in the Age of Distrust,” Alison J. Head explores if and how undergraduate students are prepared for the reading they are expected to do in college, how reading and research are connected, and how librarians and instructors can help college students improve their reading comprehension skills. In this conversation, we will discuss the issues raised by Head and how they apply to our own reading, teaching, and research practices. This discussion is open to anyone who is interested!
