SUMMARY:GIS Workshop - ArcGIS Story Maps
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nArcGIS StoryMaps is a spatially enabled website builder
that allows authors to give narrative and multimedia context to their
ArcGIS Online maps. Whether telling a story\, giving a tour or comparing
historical maps\, ArcGIS StoryMaps is an easy-to-use application builder
that creates polished presentations.\n\nAll sessions are one hour and
assume participants have no previous experience using GIS. Sessions will be
hands-on demonstrations with step-by-step tutorials and expert assistance.
All sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 2PM to 3PM and are free and open
to the UVa and larger Charlottesville community. Check out our Blog Post or
our LibGuide for a full list of our Fall sessions.\n\n\n	All sessions will
be in-person\, in the Scholars’ Lab (Shannon Library 308).\n	We will
provide laptops for attendees. \n	Walk-ins are welcome\, but due to a
limited number of laptops\, we strongly encourage registering. If you're
waitlisted\, please contact us at uvagis@virginia.edu.\n	Class handout and
presentation will be made available on the Fall 2026 Workshops tab of our
Teaching Resources page.\n	There will not be a virtual option this
semester. We apologize for any inconvenience.\n	Please note\, these
workshops are not intended for course instruction. If you're here at the
direction of your professor\, or if you're teaching a class and would like
to include GIS instruction\, please contact us at
uvagis@virginia.edu.\n\n\nPlease see the Fall 2026 Workshops tab on our
Teaching Resources page for more information\, including slides\,
 handouts\, post-workshop office hours and session recordings.\n
