SUMMARY:Power and Sample Size Analysis with R
DESCRIPTION:In the design stages of a research project\, it’s important
to consider if your sample size is large enough to provide sufficient power
(or probability) to detect a hypothesized effect. In this workshop we’ll
cover how to calculate power and sample size for various statistical tests
using R. We’ll also demonstrate how to use simulation as a way to
estimate power for more complicated analyses. Knowledge of basic statistics
and familiarity with R would be helpful but are not required.\n\nOur policy
is that we do not record live workshops in order to encourage robust Q&A.
However\, you can always find the full workshop materials for all of our
 workshops at: https://library.virginia.edu/data/training/past-workshops
which allows you to work through the material at your own pace. We also
encourage you to reach out to the instructor at any time for a one-on-one
consult\, and for specific or general questions about any of the topics we
 cover.\n\n\n\n\n
