Designed for the beginner programmer, this is the first of a two-part introduction to the Python programming language. We will cover the steps from installing Python and getting oriented to your Editor/IDE. Then we will go through basics of programming and some programming specific to Python which includes variables, looping, conditionals, data types, functions, and more.

Our policy is that we do not record live workshops in order to encourage robust Q&A. However, you can always find the full workshop materials for all of our workshops at: https://library.virginia.edu/data/training/past-workshops which allows you to work through the material at your own pace.
