The Fast and the Curious is a ten-part lecture series for the 24/25 academic year that will feature the Fast and Furious franchise. Although Fast and Furious is popular and commercially successful, it has also had a fascinating impact on car culture, automotive design and technology, and features significant representation of Black, Latine, and Asian communities.
This session will feature David Nemer (Media Studies) and Mohamed Ismail (Architecture). After the talk, we'll screen the fifth film in the franchise, Fast and Furious 5.
Hosting in partnership with the UVA Motorsports Club and the Scholars' Lab.
Seating is limited so please register for each event!
