Linear Modeling with R

Linear Modeling with R

What is the mean home value in your neighborhood? That’s easy to calculate. But how is mean home value related to finished square feet, or number of bathrooms? How much can we expect the mean value of a home to change when we add a full bathroom? These are the type of questions we can analyze with linear modeling, also known as multiple regression. In this workshop we show you how to implement, interpret, and evaluate linear models using the R statistical computing environment. Special emphasis will be placed on visualizing models to communicate results. This workshop is ideal for those familiar with linear modeling in other programs (such as Stata or SPSS) but who want to learn how to do it in R. Previous experience with R and introductory statistics will be helpful but is not required.

Our policy is that we do not record live workshops in order to encourage robust Q&A. However, you can always find the full workshop materials for all of our workshops at: https://library.virginia.edu/data/training/past-workshops which allows you to work through the material at your own pace. We also encourage you to reach out to the instructor at any time for a one-on-one consult, and for specific or general questions about any of the topics we cover.
