A 2023 survey conducted in SC-Pres revealed that the most requested training desired/needed by folks to do their jobs has to do with the arrangement, description, preservation, and access of email that the library chooses to retain as part of our collections.  [Note: This is not about cleaning up your own inbox, but about how we handle email coming into our collections for research and scholarship.]

In consultation with Cross-Unit Projects, SC-Pres is making available content and group discussions centered on a great (free) course available to us via the Digital Preservation Coalition.  

When you join this cohort, you agree to:

1. All do the asynchronous training (the homework) 
2. Meet monthly to discuss the current state of email preservation at UVA compared to training examples (the facilitated group discussions)
3. After the training and discussions conclude, work toward strategies on what email preservation and processing SHOULD be here at UVA Library
