Dracula Daily, the wildly popular email newsletter that has been described as an “internet sensation” (The New York Times) and “the coolest book club on the internet” (Fast Company) is breathing new life into Bram Stoker’s classic vampire novel. Now, the internet phenomenon can be experienced in a deluxe hardcover book that includes hilarious commentary and artwork from Dracula Daily readers.
On Monday, October 9 (doors open at 5:30, talk begins at 6:00 pm), the UVA Library and the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library will host Matt Kirkland, author of Dracula Daily, in the Harrison/Small Auditorium. Matt will sign copies of his new publication (books will be available for sale) and talk about the creation and evolution of the Dracula Daily project. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with Matt and explore the history of Dracula in print. Refreshments will be served and vampire-themed costumes are encouraged.
This event has been made possible by generous support from the UVA Slavic and English Departments; the UVA Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies; and by UVA Arts & the Office of the Provost & the Vice Provost for the Arts.
