Introduction to Qualitative Analysis Using Dedoose
Dedoose is a Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) application that facilitates the organization, coding, and interpretation of media, whether textual, video, audio, or image. In this workshop we will cover the basics of using Dedoose to code and analyze such documents and examine how Dedoose’s functionality allows you to surface relationships and insights that may be inchoate in your coding. We will also briefly discuss and explore Dedoose’s potential for mixed methods analysis, i.e. using Dedoose to integrate qualitative and quantitative data into one project. No prerequisites, but you may find it helpful to download the Dedoose desktop app at dedoose.com in order to follow along.
Our policy is that we do not record live workshops in order to encourage robust Q&A. However, you can always find the full workshop materials for all of our workshops at: https://library.virginia.edu/data/training/past-workshops which allows you to work through the material at your own pace. We also encourage you to reach out to the instructor at any time for a one-on-one consult, and for specific or general questions about any of the topics we cover.
