BibLaTeX for your Dissertation

BibLaTeX for your Dissertation

When using LaTeX to write papers, reference lists and in-text citations can be easily managed using BibLaTeX or related packages. In this workshop we will explore how to manage citations/bibliographies in LaTeX, and how you can use Zotero or other similar tools with LaTeX to simplify reference management.

This workshop assumes you have an Overleaf account (UVA has a site license to Overleaf), and have some basic familiarity with LaTeX and Overleaf. Before the workshop you should review the Overleaf resources Learn LaTeX in 30 minutes if you are new to LaTeX. We won't review these ideas in the workshop, but if you have questions about the material, or need help getting started with Overleaf, reach out to Ricky at ricky@virginia.edu before the scheduled workshop.

Our policy is that we do not record live workshops in order to encourage robust Q&A. However, you can always find the full workshop materials for all of our workshops at: https://library.virginia.edu/data/training/past-workshops which allows you to work through the material at your own pace. We also encourage you to reach out to the instructor at any time for a one-on-one consult, and for specific or general questions about any of the topics we cover.
