We’re looking forward to providing you with a guided tour of the ongoing construction and renovation of the Main Library.

We will be meeting at 1:45pm on Friday, 4/21 at the Skanska construction trailer located on Newcomb Rd off of University Avenue.

 

Parking is available in the Central Ground Garage. There is additional parking along University Ave. and McCormick on a first come first serve basis.

Schedule

1:45                     Arrive at Skanska Trailer which is located at Newcomb Rd. and University Ave.

1:45 to 2:00       Put on PPE gear, safety talk and introduction to project

2:00 to 3:00       Tour the site

Please note you will need to wear the following personal protection gear to enter the construction site;

Sturdy pair of closed toed boots or equivalent - no sneakers or sandals – must be covered up to the ankle

Long pants

Long sleeve shirt preferred

Masks are optional

It is a privilege to be invited onto Skanska’s job site, the tour is not guaranteed until a safety check has been performed.

Skanska will provide you with a safety vest, safety glasses, gloves and hard hat before accessing the site.

The tour will take approximately 1 hour. Please note that the tour is mildly strenuous. We will be utilizing the construction elevator to go up and then coming back down via the stairs. Feel free to bring a bottle of water with you.

Prepare to be “wowed”!
