We are excited to announce an all-day workshop on Open Educational Resources (OER), sponsored by the University Library’s IDEA Committee.

Join us for a day of exploration into the world of OER. This workshop is designed to provide staff and faculty with practical, hands-on experience in locating, using, and crafting OER to make course materials affordable and relevant and to enhance the open learning ecosystem.  
Please note that registration priority will be given to Library staff in alignment with the IDEA Committee initiative.

Regardless of your role, there is a pathway to Open Education as you consider how the content you create, use, and share is relevant to the open learning ecosystem.

• Mastering the Basics: Understand the fundamentals of OER and open pedagogy. 

• Real-World Insights: Hear from faculty with first-hand experience in integrating OER into their curriculum. 

• Statewide Synergy: Learn about the broader context through our partnership with VIVA, Virginia's academic library consortium. 

• Accessibility Focus: Apply principles of universal design for learning to ensure your resources are accessible to all. 

• Legal Know-How: Navigate the legalities surrounding the use of and contribution to OER. 

• Creating and Sharing: Review authoring tools and platforms, including LIBRA, our institutional repository.
