Bring your syllabus - leave with a clear next step.
This hands-on workshop helps faculty assess whether open or low-cost materials could work for their course.
We'll work directly with what you're currently using: you'll search for potential OER or low-cost replacements, evaluate them against your course needs, and get a read on what's actually available for your discipline.
Not every course has a ready-made open alternative. If nothing fits, we'll talk about other options: adapting/remixing existing open materials, adopting part of an open text alongside your current one, finding library-licensed low-cost alternatives, or even starting a small creation project.
What to bring: your current syllabus or course outline, and/or, if possible, your current textbook's table of contents. What you'll leave with: either a short list of viable alternatives or a clear picture of your options if none exist yet, plus an optional follow-up consultation with a librarian.
Funding is still currently available through the Library's microgrant program.
Capped at 5 participants.
