Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

Join us for a Wikipedia edit-a-thon in the R-Lab of the Fine Arts Library. For Women's History Month, we'll be editing pages that focus on art and feminism to support the organization Art+Feminism's fourth annual edit-a-thon.

From Art+Feminism's page, why we'll be editing:

Wikipedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity, however, is not. Content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.

Let’s change that. Join us for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.

If you've never edited Wikipedia before, we'll be holding training sessions at 9:30am and at 1:30pm and experienced Wikipedia editors will be available for support through the day. Join us!
